Walking from Darkness Into Light with Pieta
Mental health matters. Every day, individuals and families across Ireland are impacted by mental health challenges, self-harm, and suicide. At Derrycourt Cleaning Specialists, we believe in showing solidarity, raising awareness, and supporting those affected—and that’s why we were proud to take part in Darkness Into Light 2025 in support of Pieta.

On Saturday, 10 May, team members from across our sites joined thousands of people walking across Ireland at sunrise, symbolising the journey from darkness into hope. Our main group gathered in Phoenix Park, while others participated locally in their own communities.
Together, we reached our target of €500 for Pieta, helping to fund their 24/7, free, life-saving services for people in crisis. With 85% of Pieta’s funding coming from public support, every euro truly makes a difference.
We were moved by the messages of support, the conversations sparked, and the sense of unity among colleagues. Some staff shared personal stories, while others walked in honour of loved ones or simply to shine a light for those who need it most.
Why It Matters
In the next 24 hours alone, Pieta will receive over 300 calls and texts, many from young people under 18. Events like Darkness Into Light not only raise essential funds, but help break down the stigma around mental health.
