One Million Steps That Matter
A Derrycourt Fundraiser in support of Children’s Health Foundation
What difference can a single step make? Alone, not much. But when hundreds of people walk together, each step becomes part of something bigger — a movement of hope, support, and action for children and families who need it most.
This September, Derrycourt is coming together to walk 1,232,714 steps, one for every child in Ireland, in support of Children’s Health Foundation. Alongside this challenge, we are aiming to raise at least €2,500 to help fund life-saving care, ground-breaking research, and essential support for children and their families.
As we move towards our goal, every donation we collect will not only raise vital funds but also double as an entry into our charity raffle. Each step and each euro brings us closer to making a lasting impact. Learn more here.
Why It Matters
Sick children in Ireland rely on Children’s Health Ireland’s services. Behind every hospital bed is a story of courage; of children fighting illness, parents holding hope, and teams of medical professionals working tirelessly to save lives.
One of those stories is Freddie’s
Freddie was just six months old when he needed his first liver transplant. His family spent months in hospital, navigating fear and uncertainty, before finally being flown to London for surgery. At two years old, Freddie needed a second transplant, another battle, another journey. Today, thanks to expert care and sheer determination, Freddie is thriving.
Freddie’s story is just one of thousands. He represents why we are stepping up; not for one child, but to ensure that every sick child has the very best chance if, and when, they need it.
