From Head Office to Client Sites

A Different Perspective on the Operation

Much of what happens across client sites is communicated through reports, photographs and daily updates. While these provide an important view of operations, there is no substitute for seeing the work first-hand.

Recently, Alvaro, an intern in Derrycourt’s Marketing Department had the opportunity to visit several client locations alongside Sebastian, our Dublin South County Assistant Regional Manager. The visits provided Alvaro with a valuable opportunity to gain a closer understanding of the people, processes and standards that underpin service delivery across a range of environments. He was able to observe the operation beyond Head Office and see how teams work each day to support clients while maintaining consistently high standards.

"Having spent several months in Head Office, the opportunity to visit some of our client sites provided a completely different perspective on the operation. Working in marketing, much of what happens on site is experienced through emails, photos and updates. Seeing it in person brought those updates to life."

Travelling between sites with Sebastian provided insight into the day-to-day management of multiple locations and the importance of building strong relationships with both clients and teams. It also highlighted the coordination required to ensure services run smoothly across a diverse portfolio of contracts.

What stood out most was the professionalism of the people delivering the service. From routine tasks to responding to the unique requirements of each site, teams demonstrated a strong commitment to quality and attention to detail.

"Watching our teams go about their day, meeting the people behind the service and seeing the level of care that goes into every task gave me a much clearer understanding of what happens beyond the office. It was a reminder that, while Head Office supports the operation, the heart of the business is on site."

For support functions such as marketing, spending time on site provides valuable context. It helps ensure that the stories shared, the services promoted and the achievements celebrated reflect the realities of the work taking place each day.

The experience also reinforced the importance of connection across the business, bringing together the perspectives of operational teams and support departments.

"Spending time with the teams helped me better understand the realities of their day-to-day work and brought a new perspective to the role marketing plays in supporting and communicating what we do."

Seeing operations in action offered a deeper appreciation of the people behind the service and a greater understanding of what it takes to deliver consistent standards across every client site.
